They that go down to the sea in snarks …
As we drift through the dog days of summer, let us close our eyes, relax and float downstream aboard the HMS Snark, the very same Boojum-destined ship upon which Marlow searched for his personal boojum, Mistuh Kurtz … aboard which Don Aguirre searched for the boojum of El Dorado and Senor Brian Sweeney Fitzcarraldo searched for the boojum of his opera house … and upon which Rimbaud searched for the drinks trolley before it became entangled in the eyes of panthers in the skins of men …

ReplyDeleteYou are too kind, you're very welcome. Perhaps if the book sells well I can do a full-clor version later on. It's time-consuming though, even in Photoshop … the Snarkian Multiverse demands a suprachromatic palette, the sort that only dogs can see perhaps …

ReplyDeleteYes, I am a great fan of Herzog's "Kinski" films and both Aguirre & Fitzcarraldo make perfect bookends to the entire Heart of Darkness them … Apocalypse Now was a bit of a snooze for me … the recent comic remake, Tropic Thunder, was far better.
